La Cuisine cast iron cookware is made in the most northerly county Donegal, Ireland by the family-owned company of the same name and designed by famous Irish product designer Marcus Notley.

Using the latest technology in cast iron production in favour of the ultra-reliable 'Disa' production technique.

Originating in Denmark, this technique involves the use of sand moulds and results in exceptionally smooth castings.  The moulds are used only once, meaning that every single item is unique. The cookware is made using sand moulds and features wide-angle wedge profile handles that allow for a stable grip. The inner wedge of the handle provides a platform for resting your fingers, which is useful when using gloves or mitts.

Designer Marcus Notley, a specialist in luxury consumer products for the home, has created the 'sculpted elegance' in the unique wide-angle wedge profile handles found on all La Cuisine products, allowing four fingers to pass through, guaranteeing a stable grip. The inner wedge provides a platform on which to rest the fingers, for both comfort and stability with a very secure grip (vital when using gloves/mitts to remove hot pans from the oven).

The top of the lid has a distinctive set of 3 stepped ridges, designed to collect flavoured steam droplets and allow them to gather, drop and disperse more evenly back into the food being cooked, ensuring the food stays moist and improves the flavour. The inside of the pots has a large radius corner for ease of use with cooking utensils and to remove corner food traps.

The base of the pots is slightly thicker than the side walls, helping to create a more even distribution of heat across the floor of the pots. 5 layers of super-tough enamel finish, both internally and externally, help maintain the beautifully tough cast iron cookware.
